The easiest thing I can express is the definition of volunteering and what it means for me. The definition of volunteering isn't just a text-book definition. It's a feeling deep in my soul and it runs through my veins like blood that gives me life. It's the joy I feel when giving a transfusion or bone marrow to help save lives. It's my hope that my volunteer services will contaminate others into volunteering their services to provide life-giving and life-saving services so that others may have a better quality of life.
I have been volunteering since 1989. I'm not sure what changed in my life that infected me with this life-giving and life-saving bug, but this bug I welcome with open arms. Since then, I seek opportunities to help others or organizations that need my help. Volunteering is not only a part of my life, it's who I am.
